APTECH

Aptech is a fast-growing organisation and we need to remain in sync with times to offer an error-free experience to our customers. We have clearly defined roles and responsibilities and give full freedom to explore and express. Our experience comes into picture in understanding the limits and we just act as moderators where we feel it is required. We cannot grow aggressively until we cultivate the same aggression in our team.

As technology continues to evolve with every passing day, organisations are adapting to change faster than ever before. One such organisation is Aptech, the global education and training establishment, which believes technology makes life easier and therefore it is constantly adopting change.

The core of Aptech is digital learning and its CIO Vishwajeet Singh explains that the meaning of digital transformation is quite complex within the organisation as it tries to cater to millions of candidates every month. Aligning themselves to the Digital India initiative of the Government of India, Aptech aims to cater to the demand of creating the right talent for education sector.

“Last few years have been very challenging with so many transformations that it is becoming more and more challenging as we move forward,” Singh says. He has looked after many medium and large projects starting from development of applications from scratch. “The idea behind these projects were to eliminate redundancy and increase efficiency. Your approach needs to be agile and complement organisational growth,” he adds.

It is important to understand every pain point before rolling out a project. As technology leaders, Aptech has been focussed towards understanding the job roles at every level and trying to bridge the gap further. Singh opines that technology is not to replace people; it is to make them more efficient. No application can become successful until it is used by all the stakeholders on the system.

Adopting latest technology has rendered efficiency in the current system of the organisation and Singh believes it has had a direct impact on the profitability of the company. On the other side, it helps in creating a more transparent working atmosphere. While the company stresses on introducing new upgraded systems, they have not completely discontinued with the old systems as they can come handy for references.

He adds that the role of a CIO is more versatile now and not limited to IT alone. The success of a CIO depends on how well he understands the current business requirements and predicts future. He is just not focussed on delivery but also responsible for adoption. This reflects well in Vishwajeet's role at Aptech. Today, CIOs are evolving as business leaders and are going to be strong contenders for the role of CEOs in days to come.
